For more than 100 years, locals and visitors have enjoyed the natural,
majestic waters of Bozeman Hot Springs. Perry Matthews, who built a
14x18 plunge pool and called it Matthews Hot Springs, homesteaded this
area in 1879.
By 1931, Georgia Brown was the new owner and poured the pools that are
the foundation of the hot springs today. She also added a dance hall
and restaurant where visitors from as far as the East Coast were
entertained.
Charles Page purchased the hot springs in 1946 and changed it from a
nightclub atmosphere to a more family oriented establishment. One of
Page’s additions was the old school bus that adorned the entrance of
the hot springs until 2001.
The current owner, Dennis Simpson, has made many changes since the old
days. He has remodeled the whole facility, adding more soaking pools
at different temperatures, a dry sauna, wet sauna, full-service spa,
state-of-the-art fitness center, juice bar, day care, tanning beds,
and more.
